Shed Tray, Project

Ella created a flat pack shed to showcase her collection of trays and wallpapers, reusing wood planks and old windows, inspired by her manufacturers based in Belgium Read more
She had learnt that any faulty trays from the factory would get sent for reuse in Africa. The story suggested that they had been used as roof tiles, but there were no photographs to substantiate such a claim.

Ella set to work, to create both a space for curating her new collections, alongside highlighting reuse and resources. The Shed was designed to be flat-packed and easily assembled and disassembled. From Designers Block in Olympia to organising a street event beside her shop back in 2010, the shed was eventually donated to an events scheme for festivals.

Alexandra Lunn

I used to roam around my dad’s wood workshop in West Yorkshire, terrorising his colleagues and making wooden sculptures. I’d accompany him to the demolition sites of the old mills of Manchester and Leeds that were being pulled down; everything within the mills was meant to be burnt, however, he’d salvage wood, bobbins, and cast iron objects and use the materials to make floors and furniture out of the reclaimed timber and other items. The idea that you could make something out of nothing interested me.

I work with developers, designers, and other creatives to create stand-out visual identities, websites, and marketing.
